Trio of Owls Secure ASUN Athlete of the Week Awards

KENNESAW, Ga. – AJ Johnson, Sarah Hendrick and Kali Terza collected ASUN Athlete of the Week awards for their performances at the Kennesaw State Invitational, the conference announced Wednesday.

Johnson was named ASUN Freshman of the Week on the men's side after winning the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 5.07m (16' 7.5"). That mark was tops in the ASUN over the weekend. It also ranks first in the ASUN and No. 37 in the NCAA East Region this season.

Hendrick collected Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors after winning the 800m in a personal-best time of 2:00.98. That time established a school record, ranks first in the ASUN, tied for first in the NCAA and stands first in the NCAA East Region this season.

Terza was named ASUN Freshman Athlete of the Week after she set the school record with a toss of 56.65m (185'10") to finish second in the hammer throw. The mark ranks No. 3 in the ASUN this season. She took ninth in the shot put with a personal-best toss of 56.65m (185'10"), which ranks seventh in the ASUN this season.

The Owls split up and head to a pair of meets on April 21-22. The distance runners heads to the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Georgia Tech and the rest of the team travels to the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
