LUBBOCK, Texas – The College Baseball Foundation announced Kennesaw State shortstop, Tyler Simon, was named to the official watch list for the 2022 Brooks Wallace Award. The honor recognizes the nation's top shortstop in terms of both offensive and defensive production.

Simon has put together an impressive start to the 2022 season. The shortstop holds a .323 batting average and has collected 12 multi-hit performances. The senior is tied for the team-lead in stolen bases (7) and has tied his career-high in home runs (3) this year.

Defensively, Simon has been solid in the middle of the infield. Kennesaw State currently ranks 11th in the country in double plays turned with 30 total. The KSU shortstop has been involved in 23 of these and holds a .947 fielding percentage.

Simon and the Owls (21-10, 10-2 ASUN Conference) return to Stillwell Stadium on Thursday, Apr. 14 at 6:00 p.m. for game one of its three-game tilt against the Liberty Flames. Fans can purchase tickets by clicking here.
