Co-Ed Performance | All-Girl Perfomance
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Kennesaw State cheerleading team took home a national championship at the 2022 NCA Collegiate Nationals.
"Each athlete has put so much into trusting the process and attention to minor details this year it's amazing. It really showed with their technique and confidence on both days," head coach Charlie Asciutto said. "We are also grateful for our seniors who have helped develop and shape this program over these recent years."
Like last year, the Owls competed with an all-girls squad and a co-ed squad.
The co-ed team took home its third consecutive national championship in the small co-ed division with a score of 97.8704 points, pulling ahead of College of Charleston's 96.1158 for the trophy.
"We are just simply so proud of what our athletes have accomplished this weekend. They both went out and finished their season with amazing performances and created memories that will last forever," said Asciutto. "We are happy that their hard work for the entire year paid off."
The all-girls team finished runner-up in an incredible performance. They totaled a score of 97.676, falling just short of California Baptist's score of 97.963.
"We are also so thankful for the unbelievable support we had this season and feel extremely blessed," said Asciutto.
