First and Second Round Results | Third Round Results
WALLACE, N.C. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team posted its lowest single-round score at the River Landing Classic and finished tied for sixth in the event after third round action Tuesday.
The team boasted a 10-stroke improvement from its second-round score, shooting 1-over 289 in the final 18 holes.
The Owls carded a 22-over 886 through the two-day event and were one stroke ahead of Golfstat's No. 64 team Coastal Carolina and only three strokes behind No. 77 Charlotte.
LEADING THE PARLIAMENT:
Bella Kil paced the Owls in the tournament, shooting a 3-over 219 after an even-par score in round three.
The score marked her second even-par round in the event and was tied for 12th on the leaderboard. She finished tied for second in par-4 scoring at 3.97.
SCORECARD:
Cameron Neilson shot 1-under 71 in the third round and finished with a 5-over 221 overall score. Neilson competed as an individual for the competition.
Meva Schmit carded an even-par score in the final 18 holes, ending the event with a 5-over 221 score. She was tied for third in par-3 scoring at 2.92.
Schmit and Neilson were tied for 20th.
Alizee Vidal posted the lowest single-round score by an Owl in the tournament at 2-under 70 in round three. Vidal finished 7-over 223 and tied for 29th.
Lara Jecnik and
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman carded 13-over 229 scores for the 54-hole contest and tied for 51st.
Jecnik tied for fourth with a 4.67 average in par-5 scoring.
GOLF CART NOTES:
>> The Owls finished third in par-5 scoring with a 4.90 average.
>> Schmit's eagle during the second round was one of only five recorded throughout the tournament.
>> KSU was third in total pars carded in the tournament with 174.
THORNE'S THOUGHTS:
"The team played well today," head coach
Erin Thorne said. "It is a round that more represents what we believe is our normal scoring as a group."
"Bella, Meva and Cam played steady all three rounds and Alizee came on strong in the final round," Thorne added.
NEXT TEE TIME:
The team returns to the course to host the Pinetree Women's Collegiate on Monday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 22 at Pinetree Country Club.
