Kil Paces Owls After 36 Holes at River Landing

First and Second Round Results | Third Round Live Scoring

WALLACE, N.C. – Two rounds are in the books after Monday's action and the Kennesaw State women's golf team sits in at eighth place in the River Landing Classic.
The Owls carded a 21-over 597 and stand five strokes ahead of host school University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
The squad is six strokes ahead of Golfstat's No. 64 team Coastal Carolina and only four strokes behind No. 82 Boston College.

LEADING THE PARLIAMENT:
Bella Kil led the Owls through the first two rounds of action, going even-par in the first 18 holes followed by a 3-over 75 in round two.
Her even-par first round was the lowest single-round score on the team during day one.
She enters round three competition tied for 15th in the 78-player pool. Kil is tied for third in par-4 scoring with a 4.00 average.

SCORECARD:
Meva Schmit posted the team's second-lowest score during the first round at 2-over 74. Her overall score stands at 5-over 149 and tied for 24th.
Schmit carded an eagle on the 13th hole during the second round. Her par-5 scoring average of 4.63 is second among the participants.
Participating as an individual, Cameron Neilson carded 3-over 75 in each of the first two rounds Monday. She stands tied for 28th in the tournament.
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman concluded day one tied for 34th with a 7-over 151 through the first 36 holes.
Tied for 45th, Alizee Vidal bounced back from a 7-over 79 in round one with a scorecard of 2-over 74 through the next 18 holes.
Lara Jecnik shot 10-over 154 through the first 36 holes and is tied for 49th.

GOLF CART NOTES:
>> The Owls finished the first two rounds second in par-5 scoring with a 4.85 average.
>> Schmit's eagle during the second round was one of only four recorded throughout the tournament during day one.
>> Kil and Neilson are tied for third in par-3 scoring with averages of 2.88.
>> KSU enters day two in fourth in total pars carded with 113.

THORNE'S THOUGHTS:
"It was a tough day with strong winds," head coach Erin Thorne said. "Once we got momentum going for any of the players it was tough to keep it going."
"With one more round, we have work to do to get in a position that we believe we are capable of achieving.," Thorne added.

NEXT TEE TIME:
The Owls finish the River Landing Classic on Tuesday, March 8 with round three action.
The team will host the Pinetree Women's Collegiate on Monday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 22 at the Pinetree Country Club.
