Women's Tennis Ready for ASUN Road Tests in Florida

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women's tennis is set for another slate of ASUN conference matches over the weekend. The team will travel to North Florida before taking on Stetson in a pair of matches.

Match 14: Kennesaw State (11-2) at North Florida (6-8)
Date: Friday, March 25; 11:00 a.m.

Hot Start
The Kennesaw State women's tennis team is off to one of its best starts in program history .KSU won nine consecutive matches to begin the year which was a program record previously held by the 2011 team. The team's 11-2 record marks the most wins since the 2012 season when the Owls won 14 matches that year.

Owls Season Statistics
In singles action, the Owls have a combined record of 49-20. Ji Youn Lee (9-1) and Sofia Pinedo (9-4) lead the Owls in victories.  Valentina Taddia follows with a record of 8-4. The No.1 doubles team of Taylor Dean/Kat Muzik have five victories with two losses. The No. 2 doubles team of Ji Youn Lee/Valentina Taddia have a record of 7-3 thus far in the season.

Road Dominance
The Owls have been dominant on the road, tallying nine victories away from campus to start the year. KSU is one win shy from tying the previous record set at ten in the 2011 season.

Scouting North Florida
UNF split its matches last weekend against UAB and Stetson. The Ospreys defeated UAB 6-1 on Friday Mar. 18 before falling in their ASUN opener to Stetson 5-2.

Scouting Stetson
The Hatters are on a six-game win streak and are coming off a 4-0 win over St. Thomas on Tuesday Mar. 22. The win was the seventh time Stetson has shut out its opponent. The Hatters have posted a 10-0 record when playing at home this season.

The Series
Friday's match between Kennesaw State and North Florida will be the 14th meeting between the two programs. North Florida leads the series 13-0, last defeating KSU 7-0 during the 2021 season.
Sunday's match between Kennesaw State and Stetson will be the 17th meeting between the two teams. KSU got its first win in the series last season, defeating the Hatters 4-3.

The Last Time Out
On Saturday, KSU dropped its second match of the season against Liberty 4-0. The Owls regained traction in route of Bellarmine 4-0 on Sunday.

Next Up
KSU travels to Fort Myers, Fla., to take on No. 74 FGCU on Sunday, Apr. 3. Match time is set for 10:00 a.m. at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
