KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State women's basketball point guard Amani Johnson was named to the ASUN All-Conference Second Team and ASUN All-Academic Team by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
The KSU co-captain finished the 2021-22 campaign as the fourth-highest scorer in the ASUN at 13.1 points per game and netted the second-highest point-per-game ratio in conference play at 13.8.
The no. 0 continued her reputation as one of the premier playmakers in the conference, sitting at fourth place in assist rankings with 4.5 helpers per game.
Playing the most minutes among ASUN players, Johnson logged 108 minutes more than the next player; the Owl played an average of 38.28 minutes per game, the third-most playing time in the nation.
Earning a 3.90 GPA in her pursuit of an accounting degree, the Pennsylvanian is one of only two conference players to earn their third academic honors from the conference this season.
While succeeding on the court and in the classroom, Johnson was also fulfilling her current role as the Kennesaw State SGA President.
This is not the first academic accolade that the senior has earned this season, as Johnson was named in the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team on Feb. 17.
Johnson and the Owls return to action on Wednesday night, facing off against Eastern Kentucky in the first round of the ASUN Conference Tournament at 7 p.m.
