ATLANTA, Ga. – The Kennesaw State track and field teams opened the outdoor season at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Friday.
School Record
- Reece Burton landed a toss of 61.54m (201'11") in the javelin to finish third among college athletes in the men's javelin.
Event Wins
Men's Top Performances
- AJ Johnson cleared 4.75m (15'7") to finish second in the pole vault.
- Jordan Fick ran a time of 15.90 seconds to secure sixth in the 110m hurdles.
- Kaelen Mitchell landed a wind-aided leap of 6.91m (22'8") to finish third in the long jump.
- Mekhi Williams (14:54.04) and Jack Stansell (15:04.07) took sixth and ninth in the 5k.
Women's Top Performances
- Kaitlyn Corall landed a personal-best toss of 41.68m (136'9") in the javelin to finish third among college athletes in the event.
- Kywana Donahoo finished ninth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.16 seconds.
- Natalie Cummings (4:30.20) and Nyah Hernandez (4:36.39) took home second and eighth in the 1500m.
- Zoe Smith finished sixth in the 5k with a time of 18:26.09.
- Tayla Moreland landed a leap of 5.69m (18'8") and Taylor Hampton added a mark of 5.63m (18'5.75") finishing third and sixth in the long jump.
The Owls will finish up competition at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday, March 19 at 9:00 a.m.
