BOX SCORE (GAME ONE) | BOX SCORE (GAME TWO)
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Kennesaw State baseball team wasn't able to get the bats going in a doubleheader at UNCW, dropping the two games 3-0 and 2-1, respectively, on a Sunday afternoon at Brooks Field.
The day began with a seven-inning game one, which would be started by left-handed pitcher John Bezdicek.
The Minnesotan was lethal in his time on the mound, striking out seven Seahawks in his five innings of work. Bezdicek would give up three runs, however, all of them were unearned.
Those three runs would be all the Wilmington, N.C. outfit needed, shutting out the Owls over seven innings and winning 3-0.
It was the visitors who began the scoring in the third inning of game two, as Donovan Cash earned his third RBI of the weekend by sending a pitch back up the middle to score Josh Hatcher.
After evening the scoreline in the bottom of the fifth with their own base knock up the middle, the Seahawks would walk off the second game of the doubleheader with a bases-loaded walk.
Head Coach Ryan Coe and his squad turn their attention to SEC giants Auburn, with the Owls traveling to Plainsview Park in Auburn, Ala. for a Tuesday-night tussle at 7 p.m.
