First and Second Round Results | Third Round Results

KYLE, Tex. – A strong third round on Tuesday added to a tied for fourth finish for the Kennesaw State women's golf team at the Texas State Invitational.

The Owls finished the tournament at 36-over 900, eight strokes ahead of Sam Houston and 21 strokes ahead of host school Texas State. KSU concluded with the second-lowest score in round three at 3-over 291, the team's best of the tournament.

"It was a good day to finish off the first tournament of the spring," head coach Erin Thorne said. "To post the second-best score of the day to BYU, who is ranked 26th in the nation, is a nice confidence boost for us."

Lara Jecnik carded a team tournament-low 2-under 70 and notched an eagle on the 16th hole in round three on Tuesday, adding to a total score of 7-over 223 overall. She finished tied for ninth, her first top 10 finish this season.

Alizee Vidal ended the tournament with an 8-over 224 and tied for 11th, while Meva Schmit finished at 10-over 226 and with sole possession of 17th.

Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman concluded this tournament with a tally of 14-over 230 and tied for 26th.

Bella Kil finished strong in round three, going even for par. Her final score was 22-over 238 and tied for 46th.

"While we're pleased, we still have some small things we can clean up to get our scores even lower," Thorne added.

The Owls return to the course in less than three weeks for the Rio Verde Invitational on Friday, Feb. 25 through Sunday, Feb. 27 in Rio Verde, Ariz. and hosted by the Western Michigan Broncos.
