Final Results

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Nine members of the Kennesaw State track and field teams competed at the USA Invitational inside the Birmingham CrossPlex on Sunday.
 
Event Winner

• Courtney Lawrence won the shot put with a season-best mark of 19.20m (63'0.0").
• That mark ranks 17^th in the NCAA this season and No. 2 in program history.

 
Men's Top Performances

• Tyler Blalock landed a toss of 19.10m (62'8") and Anthony Harrison added a personal-best mark of 18.11m (59'5") to finish second and fourth in the shot put.
• Stephen Smith and AJ Johnson both cleared 4.62m (15'1.75") and finished 12^th and 13^th pole vault.
• Tykeem Wallace ran a time of 7.01 seconds to finish 20^th in the 60m.

 
Women's Top Performance

• Taylor Hampton landed a leap of 5.55m (18.02.50") to finish sixth in the long jump.

"We had a really fun day with a small group down here in Birmingham. Courtney Lawrence and Anthony Harrison both had massive personal bests. We also got to see some guys from the football team come over and get their feet wet. It was a fun day and I'm looking forward to having the entire crew back together for Vanderbilt."

Four Owls will compete at the JDL February Multi and Track Meet on February 7-8. KSU will travel to Nashville, Tenn. for the Music City Challenge (Feb. 11-12).
