A NEW LOOK
The
Ryan Coe era got off to a hot start last weekend with the Owls taking three of four games from the Morehead State Eagles. With the wins, KSU improved its opening weekend record to 26-16 since 2010.
ASUN STARS
All-ASUN selections
Tyler Simon and
Cash Young made key impacts on opening day weekend. Simon finished the weekend with four hits and two RBIs, while Young blasted a three-run home run on Friday night to break the game open for the Owls.
FRESHMAN PHENOM
Smith Pinson, Wednesday's starting pitcher, picked up his first career save over the weekend after tossing three scoreless innings. The freshman came in to relieve
John Bezdicek and struck out five of the 11 batters faced.
DIAMOND DEBUTS
The Owls will feature many new faces on the diamond in 2022. KSU has 23 players that are in their first year with the baseball program. This accounts for 58% of the team's roster.
