NEW LEADERSHIP
The
Ryan Coe era is set to begin this weekend at Stillwell Stadium when the Owls take on the Eagles. This will be the first time in 30 years that KSU baseball has debuted a new head coach.
SERIES HISTORY
This series is the first meeting between Kennesaw State and Morehead State. Since 2010, KSU has a record of 23-15 on opening weekend.
PRESEASON AWARDS
Tyler Simon and
Cash Young were both selected to the Preseason All-ASUN team. Simon has started at shortstop all four years of his KSU career, while Young will hold down the hot corner for the Owls this season. In 2021, Simon hit .242 with 11 doubles, two triples and two home runs. Young finished the year at .335 including a team-high nine home runs at Georgia College and State.
DIAMOND DEBUTS
The Owls will feature many new faces on the diamond in 2022. KSU has 23 players that are in their first year with the baseball program. This accounts for 58% of the team's roster.
