2023 Kennesaw State Signing Day Central

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women's basketball and head coach Octavia Blue added three players during the early signing period, with two prospects hailing from Georgia and one from Florida.
 
The early signing class features Kailyn Fields from Atlanta, Ga., Trynce Taylor from Alpharetta, Ga. and Sophia Rueppell from Jacksonville, Fla.
 
Fields, a 5'9 guard from Atlanta, Ga., averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game as a junior and was a two-time co-captain at Wheeler High School. The guard is finishing up her prep career at Galloway High School and was voted as one of the state's top combo guards for the class of 2023. The Atlanta native plays on the AAU circuit with Hoop Dreams Athletics and has been named to three all-star tournaments. Fields was chosen as the standout player at the Orlando Splash event and was voted the 2021 She Got Game MVP.

Prep Hoops Georgia High School Scout Kyle Sandy on Fields…
"Kailyn has a high upside. She's young for her grade and has been a coveted prospect since early on in her high school career. Fields is a playmaker that looks to get teammates involved. She's an impactful defender with her lateral quickness."
 
Taylor, a 6'2 forward, averaged 12.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.6 assists and 0.6 blocks per game as a junior at St. Francis High School. The Alpharetta native helped lead St. Francis to its 10^th straight region title a season ago. Taylor was voted a top 10 forward for the 2023 class and the No. 24 prospect in the state of Georgia according to Hoop Seen. Taylor was also an all-state selection as she was named to the 1A Georgia Private North Region as a junior. The forward posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the Georgia Basketball Coaches Association Junior All-Star Game. Taylor was selected as one of the top forwards participating at the Hoops4Hunger showcase. 
 
Octavia Blue on Taylor…
"It is important that we recruit the top players in Georgia, and I am ecstatic that we got our first in-state commitment out of high school in Trynce Taylor. Trynce comes from a winning program and who has competed for state championships nearly every year. She is a walking double-double and her versatility will definitely cause problems for our opponents. Trynce no doubt will do some special things here at KSU."

"Trynce is an exciting signing considering her size and versatility. She poses a lot of mismatches for opponents with her quickness and diverse skill set."
 
Rueppell, a 5'9 guard from Jacksonville, averaged 6.8 points, 4.0 assists and 1.6 steals as a junior at Bishop Kenny High School. She helped lead Bishop Kenny to back-to-back state semifinal appearances, a 25-5 record and a 17-game winning streak last season as a junior. The Jacksonville native scored a season-high 20 points and added seven assists in an 81-23 victory over Keystone Heights in February. Rueppell was also a threat behind the arc, knocking down 39 three-pointers a season ago.
