KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State Director of Tennis Matt Emery has announced the signing of David Leon, who will join the Owls in January of 2023.
"We are thrilled David will be joining us this spring, Emery said. "He is a great athlete who absolutely rips the ball with no fear off the baseline. He is an immediate impact player on nearly any team across the country and his future at KSU and at the next level is very bright."
Leon hails from Alicante, Spain where he attended IES Torrellano High School. He ranked as high as No. 2 in the Spanish Under 18 rankings. He is ranked No. 80 in the Spanish Men's Open singles rankings and carries a UTR of 12.35.
Leon chose KSU over Louisville, Miami, South Florida, FAU and Georgia Southern.
The KSU men's tennis squad heads to ITA Southeast Regionals on Oct. 20-24 in Tallahassee, Fla.
