KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State baseball released its full 2023 schedule, head coach Ryan Coe announced on Monday morning. The slate features matchups against seven teams that advanced to the NCAA Regionals in 2022 and includes contests against seven Power 5 programs.
"I am excited for the challenge that the 2023 schedule brings," said Coe. "Our guys are going to have an opportunity to play against some of the best college baseball programs in the nation and I look forward to watching us compete. We have some big-time teams scheduled to visit and I am pumped to see our fans pack The Shake!"
Kennesaw State will host Opening Weekend Feb. 17-19 with a three-game series against the University of New Orleans. The Privateers ended the 2022 season with a 30-23 record and earned the No. 3 seed in the Southland Conference Tournament.
KSU remains at home for the first midweek of the year as the team battles in-state rival Georgia State on Feb. 21. The Owls and Panthers split the series last season, snapping a six-game win streak KSU posted against the I-75 foe. Kennesaw State holds a 17-11 advantage in the series with victories in seven of its last 10.
The Owls conclude their seven-game homestand with a weekend matchup against LIU-Brooklyn on Feb. 24-26. The Sharks had a strong showing in 2022, posting 37 wins and an appearance in the College Park Regional.
Kennesaw State's next four games are against ACC opponents, featuring the first road game of the year at Georgia Tech (Mar. 1), followed by another weekend at Stillwell Stadium versus Boston College (Mar. 3-5). GT will be returning a trip to Kennesaw later in the season on May 10.
The Owls and Yellow Jackets won one game apiece during the '22 midweek series which was highlighted by
Josh Hatcher's first cycle in KSU history and
Tyler Simon's double play that ranked No. 3 on SportsCenter's Top-10. In the last six games played between the two schools, the series is locked, 3-3.
After hosting BC for the first time in 17 years, KSU returns a midweek trip to Georgia State on Mar. 7 before hosting a three-team tournament with the University of Michigan and UAB (Mar. 10-12). Michigan, the 2019 College World Series Runner-Up, makes its first trip to Stillwell Stadium while UAB returns for the first time since 2015.
The Owls have two games during the week on Mar. 14 and 15 that starts with a trip to 2022 Statesboro Regional host, Georgia Southern. On the following day, KSU returns home for a competition with Rutgers, the 2022 Big Ten Tournament runner-up and comes off a 44-15 season.
Kennesaw State and Georgia Southern split two close games in Statesboro last season with GSU ranked in the Top-25.
Donovan Cash boosted the Owls to a 5-3 victory in game one with a home run, double and three RBI. The two teams will also meet later in the year when Georgia Southern returns a trip to Stillwell Stadium (Apr. 19).
At the end of the double midweek, Kennesaw State begins ASUN Conference play with a three-game road trip to Stetson starting Mar. 17. Last season, Kennesaw State defeated Stetson five out of six times and outscored the Hatters, 67-22.
Following the ASUN opener, KSU hosts Clemson for the first time in series history (Mar. 22). The Owls and Tigers have only met twice, with both times being in 2018. One month later, Kennesaw State will return a trip to Clemson on Apr. 25.
The Owls welcome Mercer to The Shake on Mar. 29 and then travel to Macon Apr. 12. This will be the first matchup between the two programs since 2021.
KSU is set for a home-and-home with the University of Georgia later in the year. The Owls and Bulldogs will compete in Kennesaw on Apr. 4 before battling it out in Athens May 2. UGA took both contests last season, but both victories came by three-or-less runs.
In the final midweek game of the year, Kennesaw State makes a trip to Florida State for the first time since the 2014 Tallahassee Regional. KSU and FSU did not meet in the Regional and are primed for the first contest in school history.
In 2022, the Owls are set to host five ASUN opponents at The Shake. These include Eastern Kentucky (Mar. 24-26), Austin Peay (Apr. 6-8), Liberty (Apr. 14-16), Jacksonville (Apr. 28-30), and North Alabama (May 12-14).
The Owls will make conference trips to Stetson (Mar. 17-19), Jacksonville State (Mar. 31- Apr. 2), Queens (Apr. 21-23), Lipscomb (May 5-7) and Florida Gulf Coast (May 19-21).

Following the final conference series at FGCU, the ASUN Baseball Championships are set for May 23-27. Stetson University will be the host site as the Owls aim to defend their 2021 ASUN Tournament title.
