ATLANTA Hayley Dekker and Kendall Higgs were named to the ASUN All-Academic Team Wednesday afternoon, as announced by the league office. This marks the second consecutive season the duo made the all-academic team, and the two Kennesaw State selections were tied for the most by any squad in the conference.

Dekker led the team with 1,410 minutes played and played the full 90 minutes in 11 straight matches to conclude the regular season. The defender scored her first career goal and the game-winner in a 1-0 shutout at Jacksonville earlier this season. In addition to her stellar play on the pitch, Dekker majors in exercise science and boasts a 4.0 GPA.

Higgs appeared and started in 17 games in the regular season and ranked third on the squad with 1,290 minutes played. The Loxahatchee, Fla. native scored two goals this season and added a pair of assists, totaling six points, tied for third on the team. Like Dekker, Higgs also holds a 4.0 GPA and majors in applied stats and analytics.
