TULSA, OKLA. – Raul Garcia and Hugo Salmeron competed in the pre-qualifying rounds of the ITA All-American Championships over the weekend.
 
"All-American Championships is one of the toughest tournaments in college tennis and Raul and Hugo represented KSU really well," assistant coach Simon Pritchard said. "Today they fell just short but now we know what we need to work on in practice so that next time those tight matches go our way."
 
Garcia continued his strong fall play. He defeated Sam Bossem of Penn State 6-2, 6-3 in the round of 256. He would return to the court later in the afternoon and defeat JC Roddick of Texas A&M 6-2, 6-3. He would come up just short in the round of 64 falling in three sets.
 
Salmeron needed three sets in his opening match but took down Brady Kai of UC Santa Barbara by a score of 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. Later in the evening Salmeron downed Kade Mindry of Cleveland State 6-3, 1-6, 6-4. He would come up short in straight sets in the round of 64.

The KSU men will head to ITA Southeast Regionals on October 20-24 in Tallahassee, Fla.
