Tournament Info 

KENNESAW, Ga. – Four members of the Kennesaw State men's tennis team are set to participate in the ITA Southeast Regional Championship from Oct. 20-24 at the at the Scott Speicher Tennis Complex in Tallahassee, Fla.

The tournament will open on Thursday with the qualifying draws of 32, competing for eight spots in the singles main draw of 64 and doubles main draw of 32.

Seru Tezuka, Harvey Conway, Hugo Salmeron and Raul Garcia will represent KSU in singles and Garcia and Salmeron will pair together in doubles.

Ins and Outs of Fall Season
Fall tennis consists of individual tournaments, while the team matches occur only in the spring. The Owls will participate in several individual tournaments this fall including the Mercer Gridiron Classic, ITA All-Americans and ITA Southeast Regional Championships.

Tournament Draws/ Format
 -A draw of 32 will be created for singles qualifying.
-There will be two rounds of singles qualifying with a consolation match on Thursday.
-Eight players will advance to the main draw.
-There will not be doubles qualifying.
 
Singles
-There will be a main draw of 64.
 
Consolation Rounds
-There will be one round of consolation singles in qualifying.
-For main draw singles, there will be a first-round backdraw. It will not be a compass draw.
-There will not be doubles consolation matches.
 
Secondary Draw Singles
-There will be a round-robin group for singles players who did not make qualifying.
 
Doubles
-There will be a draw of 64 with some byes in the first round.

The teams competing are: Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Miami (FL), North Florida, South Florida, Stetson and UCF.

Thursday, Oct. 20 – Main Draw: Doubles Round of 64; Qualifying: Two rounds of singles, One round of consolation singles; Secondary Singles: One round
Friday, Oct. 21 – Main Draw: Doubles Round of 32, Singles Round of 64 and 32; Secondary Singles: One round
Saturday, Oct. 22 – Main Draw: Doubles Round of 16 and Quarterfinals, Singles Round of 16, Consolation Singles Round of 32 and 16; Secondary Singles: Two rounds
Sunday, Oct. 23 – Main Draw: Doubles Semifinals, Singles Quarterfinals and Semifinals, Consolation Singles Quarterfinals and Semifinals
Monday, Oct. 24 – Main Draw: Doubles Final, Singles Final, Consolation Singles Final
 
Next Up
Following this weekend, the Owls will finish the fall season at the Mercer Invite on Oct. 28 -30.
