STATESBORO, Ga. āĀ Five members of the Kennesaw State women's tennis team participated in the Georgia Southern Fall Shootout at the Wallis Tennis Center over the weekend.

"This was a very productive weekend for us. There were a ton of positives but there were also things we need to work on. This team is hungry and can't wait to get back to work this week and keep getting better before Regionals this coming weekend."

The Owls were led in singles by
Ji Youn Lee who picked up a trio of wins. She defeated Kristina Kukaras from Troy 6-2, 6-1. She would return to the court later Friday and beat Chiara Dabarno 0-6, 7-5, 10-8. She downed Jessie Young 6-0, 2-6,6-3 to close the weekend.
Sophia Unger collected a pair of wins over Olivia Elliot 6-3, 7-5 and Andrea Widing 6-2, 6-3 of Troy. She finished up defeating Michelle Ncube of Georgia State 7-6 (3), 6-3.
Taylor Dean and
Sofia Pinedo each added singles wins over Troy.

In doubles, Dean and Youn Lee shined going 3-0. She and Youn Lee collected a pair of 6-3 victories over players from Chattanooga and Troy and a 6-4 win over Georgia State.
Sophia Unger and
Amulika Gottiparthy also were victorious in doubles action against Troy by a score of 6-2.

Following this weekend, the Owls are back on the court at the at the ITA Southeast Championships in Atlanta, Ga. on Oct. 13-16.
