SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team moved up the leaderboard after round two of the Carolina Cup on Monday at Country Club of Carolina.
"We had our chance for an under-par team round today but counted three very high scores on the back nine, two of which were scoreable par- 5s," head coach
Bryant Odom said. "Despite that we are gaining confidence and looking forward to the final round. I am very happy that Claes has found the type of golf he's been playing back home."
The Owls recorded a 7-over par round of 295 in round two and are in ninth place. Lipscomb leads the 14-team field at 9-under par 567 after two rounds.
Hugo Lari is tied for seventh after 36 holes at 2-under par 142. Lari carded a round of 2-over 74 on Tuesday with three birdies and 12 pars.
Claes Borregaard paced the Owls with a season-best round of 4-under par 68. The sophomore made seven birdies and nine pars during his round.
Sean Cook posted a 3-over 75 and is tied for 39
th at 4-over par 148.
Rylan Black shot a 78 while
Evan Thompson fired a 79. Thompson is tied for 70
th while Black is tied for 73
rd.
KSU will play in round three of the Carolina Cup on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
