Colligan Final Results | Tolsma Final Results

LINCOLN, Neb.- The Kennesaw State track and field teams competed at a pair of meets on Saturday. 

23 Owls competed at the Mark Colligan Invitational while 16 Owls finished competition at the Brant Tolsma Invitational in Lynchburg, Va.
 
School Records

• Sarah Hendrick ran a time of 4:43.69 to win the mile at the Mark Colligan Memorial.
• That time shattered her previous school record by nearly five seconds and ranks 10^th in the NCAA this season.
• Tyler Blalock landed a toss of 19.21m (63'0.25") to finish third in the shot put at the Mark Colligan Memorial.
• That mark ranks 11^th in the NCAA this season.

 
Event Winners (Mark Colligan Memorial)

• Omar Diaz was victorious in the 200m with a time of 21.59 seconds.
• Gavin Frick ran a personal-best time of 8:24.85 to win the 3k.
• In her 3k debut, Ciara Miles ran 10:15.36 to secure the victory.
• The women's 4x400m relay team of Imani Christian, Sarah Hendrick, Britney Chatfield and Jayla Mobley clocked a time of 3:48.49 to win the event.
• Omar Diaz, Tyriq Hussie, Sparticus Griffin, Malik Hussie closed the meet running a time 3:15.01 in the 4x400m relay to grab the win.

 
Event Winners (Brant Tolsma Invitational)

• Jasmine Akins won the triple jump with a leap of 11.97m (39'3.25").

 
Men's Top Performances (Mark Colligan Memorial)

• Tyriq Hussie (6.82 seconds), Xavier Parris (6.86 seconds), Omar Diaz (6.93 seconds) and Aaron Goodwin (6.99 seconds) finished second, fourth, fifth and eighth respectively in the 60m.
• Tyriq Hussie (21.59 seconds), Xavier Parris (21.80 seconds), Aaron Goodwin (22.00 seconds) and Malik Hussie (22.16 seconds) took home second, fourth, fifth and sixth in the 200m.
• Sparticus Griffin ran a time of 49.34 seconds and finished second in the 400m.
• Koi Williams posted a time of 4:15.67 and secured third in the mile.
• Mekhi Williams (8:29.52) and Jack Stansell (9:03.58) grabbed third and sixth in the 3k.
• Courtney Lawrence landed a toss of 18.55m (60'10.50") and took fourth in the shot put.

 
Men's Top Performances (Brant Tolsma Invitational)

• Kelvin Campbell landed a leap of 14.09m (46'2.75") in the triple jump to take third.
• AJ Johnson and Jack Rhea both cleared 4.80m (15'9") to take third and fourth in the pole vault.  

 
Women's Top Performances (Mark Colligan Memorial)

• Louise Tocays ran a time of 7.71 seconds to take fourth in the 60m.
• Tocays posted a time of 24.69 seconds and finished third in the 200m.
• Olivia Brown (8.68 seconds) and Corbin McLean (8.90 seconds) secured third and eighth in the 60m hurdles.
• Imani Christian (58.12 seconds), Jayla Mobley (58.27 seconds) and Britney Chatfield finished second, third and ninth respectively in the 400m.
• Natalie Cummings ran a time of 2:13.22 and Madigan Wallace added a time of 2:16.45 to finish second and sixth in the 800m.
• Nyah Hernandez (4:55.08) and Katie Meyer (5:02.00) grabbed third and fourth in the mile.
• Javon Joyner landed a toss of 18.40m (60'4.5") to take fourth in the shot put.

"What a fun environment for us to compete in. Nebraska has a lot of track fans.  The energy was great and this team really responded. This distance crew had several event wins and personal bests highlighted by another Sarah Hendrick school record in the mile. The sprints and hurdles group competed well and made finals all day with multiple people moving themselves up in the conference rankings. The throws group battled one of the premier throwing groups in the country all day and had some notable performances by Javon Joyner and Courtney Lawrence. We got to end the day with a new school record in the men's shot put and we won both 4x4s. We will certainly find our way back to Nebraska Overall, I am really happy with how both groups competed at Liberty and Nebraska this weekend."
