LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Kennesaw State track and field teams resumed competition at the Brant Tolsma Invitational on Friday. Friday's events featured the final three events of the heptathlon along with the men's and women's long jump.
Men's Heptathlon (Completed)
- Jordan Fick won his section scoring 4932 points.
- That point total ranks 10th in program history and 11th in the NCAA this season.
- The freshman won the 60m hurdles, pole vault and the long jump on Friday.
- Quann Shears scored a career-best 4814 points to finish as the top collegiate in his section.
- Shears point total ranks 13th in the NCAA this season.
Men's Top Performances
- Kelvin Campbell posted an indoor personal-best mark of 7.28m (23'10.75") to finish second in the long jump.
- Freshman Kaelen Mitchell secured fourth in the long jump with a leap of 7.21m (23'8.75").
Women's Top Performances
- Jasmine Akins won the long jump with an indoor personal-best leap of 6.11m (20'0.5").
- That mark is tied for 17th in the NCAA this season.
Next Up
The Owls will finish action at the Brant Tolsma Invitational and compete at the Mark Colligan Memorial on Saturday, Jan. 22.
