The Kennesaw State women's basketball team travels to Jacksonville, Fla. to take on the North Florida Ospreys, with tipoff scheduled for Wednesday evening.

The Owls are coming off of their first road win in nearly two years, edging out Stetson 61-60 on Saturday afternoon.

PERFECT PICCOLINO
Gillian Piccolino is in the midst of the best form of her 2021-22 season so far, averaging an 11-point and 11-and-a-half rebound double-double over her last two games against FGCU and Stetson.

The win against Stetson marked the junior's first double-double since her freshman year, logging 14 points and 10 boards in the Hatters' Edmunds Center.

Playing 38 minutes against FGCU and 35 minutes against Stetson, the Pennsylvanian has made strides in her long-term recovery since a leg injury she sustained last season in a win against North Florida.

Piccolino had a chance to record her best game as an Owl before being forced off the court, netting 20 points against the Ospreys in an 81-73 win.

WHITFIELD WILLPOWER
Redshirt senior Jah'Che Whitfield has led the team in scoring over the past two games, averaging 14 points.

Her team-leading effort of 15 points matches the Winthrop transfer's season bests against Mercer and Chattanooga.

With a ratio of 11.7 points per game against ASUN opponents, the Sumter, S.C. guard has begun KSU's conference campaign as the 19th-highest scoring player in ASUN games.

SCOUTING NORTH FLORIDA
Leading the Ospreys is redshirt senior and reigning ASUN Defensive Player of the Year, Jazz Bond. The Murfreesboro, Tenn. native is the second-best scorer in the conference and one of the best shot blockers in the nation; Bond averages 15.9 points and 2.6 blocks per game.

North Florida is off to an unexpected start, considering they were picked to finish second in the ASUN this season by conference coaches. The Ospreys have started conference play with an 0-4 record, last losing to Jacksonville at home after the hosts were up at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

NEXT GAME
The Owls head to Music City to take on the Lipscomb Bisons on Saturday, Jan. 22 at noon.
