Owls Drive to Macon for Mercer Gridiron Classic

KENNESAW, Ga. --
 The Kennesaw State men's and women's tennis teams head to Mercer for the Mercer Gridiron Classic Oct. 1-3. Play begins Friday morning in Macon and runs through Sunday. Play will take place at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center and the Randy Stephens Tennis Center. 

The KSU men will be playing in their third tournament of the fall while the women will be making their second.
 
Play will begin each day at 8:30 am. Friday will feature number two doubles and number one singles with Saturday seeing number two singles and number one doubles. The tournament will wrap up on Sunday with number one singles and number one doubles.
 
Mercer, Florida Atlantic, UNC Wilmington, Troy, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Jacksonville State, Auburn Montgomery, Georgia College, North Georgia, Point, SCAD, and ABAC will compete on the men's side. The women's side will feature players from Mercer, South Alabama, ETSU, AUB, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville State, Troy, Kennesaw State, North Georgia, Georgia College, SCAD, Auburn Montgomery, ABAC, Florida Southern, Georgia Southwestern, and Point.
 
Kat Muzik, Soomin Kim, Valentina Taddia, Amulika Gottiparthy, Melody Cantrell and Sofia Pinedo will play for the KSU women. The KSU men will be represented by Takafumi Mimata, Hugo Salmeron, Harvey Conway, Kevin Patel, Daniel Botti and Seru Tezuka.
 
Sergio Ingles, Raul Garcia and Matthew Terry will play in the Hagedorn Hidden Dual on October 1-3 on the campus of the University of San Diego.
 
Following this weekend's action in Macon and San Diego, the men will be back in action in the ITA Southeast Region Championships Oct 21-25, while the women will play in the Georgia Southern Fall Shootout Oct.8-10.
