Round Two Results
WOLCOTT, Colo. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team finished sixth in the Golfweek Program Challenge at the Red Sky Golf Club on Wednesday.
The tournament was reduced to a 36-hole competition after weather delays on Tuesday postponed the finish of the second round and resulted in the cancellation of Wednesday's third round.
The Owls shot an 11-over par 299 in round two, adding to a 36-hole total of 9-over par 585. East Tennessee State won the tournament after carding a 6-under par 570.
KSU closed the second round strong with seven birdies over the final four holes to push into the top six.
Cameron Neilson, who paced the team in the first round by carding a 69, finished tied for 13th and even-par total of 144.
Bella Kil led the team in round two action with a 69, including an eagle on the 2nd hole. She ended up shooting 145 for the tournament and tied for 24th.
"I'm proud of how the team came out and posted birdies to finish the tournament," head coach Erin Thorne said.
Lara Jecnik finished tied for 29th in the tournament, shooting a 146 following her 75 posting in round two.
Tori Owens carded an 80 in the second round, resulting in a 150 and tied for 48th overall, while Alizee Vidal shot a 160 for the tournament.
"We've got a quick turnaround to the next event," Thorne said. "We will use what we learned from this event to do well [next week] in Florida.
The Owls travel to St. Lucie, Fla. for the Jupiter Invite hosted by Florida Atlantic University on Monday, Oct. 4 through Tuesday, Oct. 5.
