The Kennesaw State women's soccer team hopes to start conference play on the right foot in a Thursday-night tussle between the Owls and ASUN adversaries North Alabama.
Head coach
Benji Walton's side is coming off its biggest win of the season, winning 3-1 at home against Wofford to celebrate the team's Senior Day.
A Rivera Runs Through It
Left winger
Tianna Rivera is starting off the best week in her KSU career.
The forward from Miami, Fla. bagged a goal and assist in the Owls' win against the Terriers, the first multi-point of her career.
She picked up a helper after slapping a shot off of Wofford's post, which
Lexi Labonte pounced on to open the game's scoring.
Rivera would then put the game to bed with her first goal of the season, a left-footed strike from the 18-yard line that gave Kennesaw State a 3-1 lead.
For her career performance, the sophomore was named the ASUN Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Rivera will hope to build on her amazing week with her efforts against North Alabama.
Excellent Erin
Erin Miller displayed her multiple talents in the Wofford win on Sunday.
Deployed in central defense, the junior did a fantastic job of shepherding attackers off the ball and reading the Terriers' flow of play.
Miller positioned herself perfectly to head in a corner played to the back post by
Kathryn Schreck, her second score of the campaign.
The Georgian sits in a three-way tie among goal scorers for the Owls, along with Labonte and
Macie Rainwater.
Next Match
The Owls will polish off a three-week homestand on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. against ASUN newcomers Jacksonville State.
