KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men's and women's track and field team were both named USTFCCCA 2021 Division I All-Academic Teams.
The men's team concluded the season with a 3.05 GPA and the women secured a 3.24 GPA. The women won the ASUN Indoor Championship and secured second at the ASUN Outdoor Championship. The men grabbed a pair of runner-up finishes at the ASUN Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
Individually,
Lindsay Billings,
Sarah Hendrick,
Kyarra Newton,
Jessica Watkins and
Makenzie Zeh of the women's team and
Omar Diaz,
Jordan Hewing,
Malik Hussie and
Tyriq Hussie of the men's team collected USTFCCCA 2021 Division I All-Academic honors.
"I am really proud to have such a big crew represented for this award," Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Cale McDaniel said. "We always want to see the program pushing forward and student-athletes like this are a huge help. We want to see the number of athletes on this list grow every year and I believe it absolutely will."
All-Academic Individual honorees must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher in addition to finishing in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 in a relay event on the official TFRRS descending order list during this past indoor season.
