EUGENE, Ore. ā Tyler Blalock and
Daniel Haugh competed on day one of the U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field on Friday.

Blalock landed a mark of 19.00m (62'4") to finish 15
th in the qualifying round of the shot put. He wrapped up his strong season with seven wins, a gold medal at the ASUN Indoor Championship and the school record holder in the shot put for KSU in indoor and outdoor track and field.

"Tyler capped off a great year with a great performance on a big stage," Director of Track and Field
Cale McDaniel said. "I could not be prouder of these young people that continue to put the KSU logo on the map."

Haugh advanced to Sunday's hammer throw final with a mark of 77.43m (254'0") finishing second overall. His mark meets the Olympic standard meaning he needs just to finish in the top-three on Sunday to make the U.S. Olympic team. His mark ranks fifth in U.S. Olympic Trials history.Ā

Haugh will throw in the final of the hammer throw on Sunday, May 20 at 7:25 p.m. ET.
