LYNCHBURG, Va.. - The Kennesaw State baseball team was shut out for the second straight game in a 4-0 loss Friday night in the Liberty Baseball Stadium.
The Owls' (26-15, 12-4) ace Jake Rice suffered just his first loss of the season at the hands of the Flames (31-11, 15-1), giving up two earned runs to keep his ERA below 2.00.
Right fielder Terence Norman extended his reached-base streak to 24 games with a base knock to center field in the first inning.
Andrew Grogan came in to relieve Rice and pitched 2.1 innings of no-hit ball, retiring seven of the eight batters he faced.
