TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Kennesaw State men's and women's track and field teams completed action on the second day of the Crimson Tide Invitational on Friday at Sam Bailey Stadium. Friday's events featured the opening final five events of the decathlon, the final three events of the heptathlon and the men's and women's 1500m. The hammer throw, triple jump and the 5000m were pushed to Saturday due to weather.
Men's Decathlon (Through 10 Events)
- Quann Shears finished third scoring 6732 points.
- That point total was good for eighth in program history.
- Shears broke the school record in the decathlon javelin throw with a toss of 61.23m (200'10") in a win.
- Shears finished second in the discus with a throw of 36.35m (119'3") and was fourth in the 110m hurdles in 16.11 seconds.
- Ian Jackson finished sixth with a total of 6177 points.
- Jackson was third in the 110m hurdles (15.68) and in the 1500m (4:54.58).

The Owls will conclude action at the Crimson Tide Invitational on Saturday, June 10.
