TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Kennesaw State men's and women's track and field teams competed on the first day of the Crimson Tide Invitational on Thursday at Sam Bailey Stadium. Thursday's events featured the opening five events of the decathlon and the first four events of the heptathlon.

Men's Decathlon (Through Five Events)
- Quann Shears sits in fourth place with 3547 points.
- Shears grabbed third in the 100m (11.24 seconds) and second in the long jump with a leap of 7.04m (23'1.25").
- Shears had personal-best performances in four of the five events on Thursday.
- Ian Jackson is in sixth with a total of 3365 points.
- Jackson second in the 400m (50.24) and fourth in the 100m (11.32).
