Anudit Named Golfer of the Year as Four Owls Earn ASUN Honors

KENNESAW, Ga.- Four Owls from the Kennesaw State women's golf team took home ASUN Conference postseason honors the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Tai Anudit was unanimously named both the ASUN Women's Golfer of the Year and a First Team All-Conference honoree. Alizee Vidal earned a spot on the ASUN First Team All-Conference and the All-Freshman Teams. Freshman Lara Jecnik landed a spot on the All-Freshman Team as well as being named a Second Team All-Conference selection. Tori Owens rounded out the awards, collecting ASUN Second Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team honors.
 
"It's so great to receive these accolades," Interim head coach Eric Hodgson said. "It just shows how much hard work and dedication went into this semester. Everyone on the team has played their part in our success and I am so appreciative.
 
Anudit is the top ranked player in the ASUN at No. 27 in the Golfstat Rankings. She is the sixth Owl to be named ASUN Golfer of the Year. The senior played in six tournaments with a scoring average of 71.94 this year. She had four top-three finishes. Anudit earned ASUN Player of the Week four times this spring. 10 of her 18 rounds were played at par or better. The Phitsanulok, Thailand native shattered the ASUN 54-hole (par 72) record by five strokes and the Kennesaw State 54-hole (par 72) record by six strokes after recording an 11-under par 205 at the ASUN Championship. Her first-place finish at the ASUN Championship was her best performance of the season recording rounds of 68, 68 and 69.
 
Vidal played 21 rounds this season posting a 74.38 scoring average.  The sophomore had one top-five finish this year. Seven of her 21 rounds were played at par or better. Vidal shot her season-low round of 70 in the second round of the Valspar Augusta Invitational. The Le Gosier, France native placed on the ASUN All-Tournament team after finishing in third place, tying her season low score of 2-over par 218.
 
Freshman Jecnik earned a spot on the ASUN All-Tournament team after finishing second with a 7-under par 209, this was her best performance of the season. She competed in six tournaments with scoring average of 75.50 this year. The Kranj, Slovenia native had one top-five finish, after placing runner-up at the ASUN Championship. Four of her 18 rounds were played at par or better.
 
Owens played in seven events with a 76.00 scoring average this season. The sophomore had two top-five finishes. Three of her 21 rounds were played at par or better. Owens earned a spot on the ASUN All-Tournament team after finishing tied for fifth with a 4-over par 220 at the ASUN Championship. The Chatsworth, Ga., natives best finish of the season was at the Pinetree Women's Collegiate where she carded a 1-over par 217 and tied for third. Her performance earned her ASUN Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
 
The Owls were selected as the No. 15 seed in the Baton Rouge Regionals for the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship.
