JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis came from behind to beat FGCU 4-3 on Friday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex.

"I am so proud of the guys today," assistant coach Simon Pritchard said. "After losing the doubles point the way they responded was great. We are excited to get back out there tomorrow against North Florida."

The Owls won four singles matches to grab the victory.

The Eagles would take the doubles point with a pair of wins on courts one and three. Raul Garcia and Harvey Conway took down Juan Montes and Gugli Stefanacci 6-2 on court two for the Owls.

KSU would jump out to a 2-1 lead early in singles. Raul Garcia got the Owls going with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Juan Montes. Sergio Garcia gave KSU the lead with a 6-0, 7-6 (7-3) win over Randy Wilson. The Eagles would secure victories on courts one and six to move ahead 3-2. Gaston Muhammad dropped his opening set but bounced back to beat Feliks Sakalauskas 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Kevin Patel clinched the come from behind win defeating Alessandro Conca 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 on court four. The win was the Owls first over FGCU since 2018.

KSU will remain in Jacksonville to play North Florida on Saturday, April 3 at the UNF Tennis Complex at 3 p.m.
