Round One Results

VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team sit perched atop the leaderboard at the ASUN Championship after 18 holes at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

"Today was a great day on the course," Interim head coach Eric Hodgson said. "We had a fun, positive atmosphere going the entire round. Everyone was in the mis for a counting round and that is what we need going forward. There is still a lot of golf to be played, so we will stay focused on our strategy and hope to build on the lead tomorrow."

KSU posted a 3-under par 285 and is led by No. 32 Tai Anudit. The Owls lead the tournament with 17 birdies, par-4 scoring and par-5 scoring.

Anudit paced the Owls through 18 holes. She finished in first place, posting a 4-under par 68 in her opening round. She made six birdies and 10 pars.

Freshman Lara Jecnik is just two shots behind Anudit. She is in second place after a 2-under par 70 in round one. Jecnik rolled in six birdies and eight pars. She leads the tournament in par-4 scoring at 4-under.

"Tai was steady all day as always," Hodgson said. "I was really proud to see Lara have a good day and build some confidence."

Alizee Vidal is in fifth place after she shot an even-par in her opening round. Vidal carded two birdies and 14 pars.

Tori Owens is tied for 10th place after a 3-over par 75 after round one. The sophomore logged two birdies and 11 pars.
