LEADING OFF  
» The Kennesaw State softball team hits the road to Louisville, KY for a three-game conference series against Bellarmine.
»The series against the Knights is scheduled for Saturday (April 17) with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. EST before ending out the series on Sunday (April 18) at 12 p.m. EST.

LAST TIME OUT
» The Kennesaw State softball team fell in a midweek matchup against No. 20 Georgia on Wednesday (April 7).
» The Owls hosted ASUN crossover weekend and posted a 3-1 record against Bellarmine, FGCU, Lipscomb and Stetson.
» The Owls outscored the Knights, Eagles, Bisons and Hatters 32-8.
 
IN THE CIRCLE
» ASUN's Pitcher of the Week, Melanie Bennett posted a 3-1 record against FGCU, Lipscomb and Georgia.
» Bennett (13-9) finished with a 0.0 ERA after tossing 16.0 innings, allowing only three unearned runs on 11 hits, walking only three batters while striking out 12.
» Bennett is ranked first in the conference with 13 wins, second with 111 strikeouts and tied for second with two saves.
» Peyton Elzey (1-7) secured her first win of the season against Bellarmine, allowing no runs on one hit.
 
IN THE BATTERS BOX
» As a team, KSU is ranked first in the ASUN Conference with eight triples, second with 26 home runs, third with 126 RBIs, and fourth with 133 runs scored,  226 hits, 35 doubles and combined 151 pitching strikeouts.
» Brea Dickey continues to lead the Owls in hitting with a .355 average, scoring 23 runs on 39 hits, eight doubles, three triples, four home runs, and 17 RBIs.
» Lexi Solorzano is close behind with a .306 average,  scoring seven runs on 14 hits with two doubles, two home runs and 10 RBIs.


HOMER HAPPY
» The Owls have hit one home run their last three games.
» Junior Taylor Cates is tied for 18th nationally with 12 home runs this season.
» Cheyanne Sales and Katie Greep each recorded their first home runs of the season this past week.
» Dickey collected her fourth home run and Cates collected her 12th over crossover weekend.

BELLARMINE SCOUTING REPORT
»The Knights are 6-21 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
» Grace Werner leads the Bellarmine offense hitting .295, scoring 18 runs on 18 hits and logging two doubles.
» Carson Goatley leads the Knights pitching staff with a 4-8 record, a 3.12 ERA, allowing 48 runs on 80 hits while striking out 56.

SERIES VERSUS BELLARMINE
»This weekend's series between the Owls and Knights marks the second meeting between the two programs.
» KSU leads the series 1-0.
» The Owls defeated the Knights 7-1 at Bailey Park on April 9, 2021.
