Owls Win Three Events at Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday

ATLANTA, Ga.
 – The Kennesaw State track and field teams continued the outdoor season at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday at the George C. Griffin Track.
 
Event Wins
  • Reagan Chewning won the women's javelin with a toss of 38.29m (125'7") in her KSU debut.
  • Reece Burton won the men's javelin with a toss of 59.46m (195'1")
  • Aaron Goodwin was victorious in the 100m in a time of 10.69 seconds.
 
Men's Top Performances
  • Omar Diaz (10.76 seconds) and Tyriq Husssie (10.82 seconds) took third and fifth in the 100m.
  • Ian Jackson (15.53 seconds) and Quann Shears (16.01 seconds) both ran personal-best times in the 110m hurdles to finish fifth and sixth.
  • Cameron Paulk (4:02.67) and Gavin Frick (4:02.69) recorded their personal-best times in the 1500m finishing 38th and 39th.
  • Mekhi Williams posted a personal-best time of 15:09.55 to finish 17th in the 5k.
  • Stephen Smith cleared 4.55m (14'11") to finish second in the pole vault.
  • Isa Paschall landed a leap of 7.21m (23'8") to finish runner-up in the long jump.
  • Anthony Harrison had a throw of 15.98m (52'5.25") and Caleb Hartley added a mark of 15.65m (51'5.25") to secure third and fourth in the shot put.
 
Women's Top Performances
  • Olivia Brown finished fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.91 seconds.
  • Rachel Van Amburgh crossed the finish line in a time of 4:32.02 to finish fourth in the 1500m.
  • Schuyler Heflin landed a personal-best toss of 47.33m (155'3") to take home third in the hammer throw.
  • Jessica Watkins secured sixth in the javelin with a toss of 33.25m (109'1").
 
The Owls will finish action at the Georgia Tech Invitational and compete in the Rick Erdmann Twilight on Saturday, April 16.
