The Kennesaw State men's tennis team opens ASUN Conference Men's Tennis Championship play with a quarterfinal matchup against Stetson on Saturday, April 17 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
KSU will be looking to reach the semifinals for the fourth time in program history.
Scouting Stetson
The Hatters are 5-7 on the season having won their last two matches against North Florida and Kennesaw State. Diogo Marques leads the Hatters with a 6-3 record in singles.
KSU Series History With Stetson
This will be the 15
th meeting between the two programs. Stetson leads the series 11-3.
The Last Time Out
The Kennesaw State men's tennis fell 4-2 to Stetson on Sunday, April 11 on the Betty Siegel Courts.
The Hatters won the doubles point and three singles matches to clinch the win.
The Owls got a 6-2 win from
Sebastian Osorio and
Kevin Patel over Clement Hamel and Alexandre Hillhouse on court three in doubles. Stetson would win on courts one and two to take the point.
Raul Garcia tied the match 1-1 defeating Antoine Sanchez 6-3, 6-2 on court two. The Hatters pushed the lead to 3-1 with a pair of victories on courts one and four.
Sergio Ingles needed three sets to take down Clement Hamel 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 and cut the lead to 3-2. Stetson would clinch the match with a victory on court five.
Next Up
With a win over Stetson, KSU will advance to the ASUN Semifinals on April 23 in Jacksonville, FL at the UNF Tennis Complex.
