KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team won the doubles point and two singles matches but came up just short in a 4-3 loss to North Florida on Saturday on the Betty Siegel Courts.
 
"Tough one for the guys today," assistant coach Simon Pritchard said. "We did a great job of taking the doubles point after a couple of strong starts by UNF. If we want to win matches like today we have to do a better job of taking our chances. We are looking forward to playing them again next weekend at their place."
 
The Ospreys won four singles matches to clinch the victory.
 
Sebastian Osorio and Kevin Patel opened doubles with a 6-4 win on court three. UNF would pick up a win on court two. Sergio Ingles and Seru Tezuka found themselves down 3-0 before soaring back to collect a 6-4 win over Dominik Barton and Matt Carroll to clinch the point for the Owls.
 
UNF won the opening three singles to grab a 3-1 lead overall. The Owls would mount a comeback to tie the match. Raul Garcia took down Matt Carroll in straight sets on court three 7-6 (7-3), 6-3. Kevin Patel was taken to three sets but was able to get past Rodrigo Crespo 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-3 to tie the match. The Ospreys would collect a win on court two in three sets to secure the victory.
 
The Owls will step out of conference play and head to Tennessee to face Chattanooga at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31.
