KENNESAW, Ga. –
Tori Owens was named ASUN Golfer of the Week for the first time in her career the conference announced on Thursday.
"Tori has worked hard on both the mental and physical side of golf this semester and couldn't be more deserving of this award," Interim head coach
Eric Hodgson said. "I am so proud of the effort she puts in on a daily basis and look forward to seeing what the rest of the semester holds for her."
Owens is coming off a noteworthy performance at the Pinetree Women's Collegiate. She finished tied for third at 1-over par 217. This was her best finish of her career.
Owens carded eight birdies and 38 pars over the tournament.
The sophomore carded a 1-over par 73 in round one, a 3-under par 69 in round two and a 3-over par 75 in the final round. Her performance led the Owls to a runner-up finish in the tournament.
Owens and the Owls return to the course at the GSU Intercollegiate in Johns Creek, Ga. on March 29-30.
