Round Three Scores
KENNESAW- Ga.- The Kennesaw State women's golf team finished in second place in the Pinetree Women's Collegiate at Pinetree Country Club on Tuesday.
"This tournament was an important step for us," Interim head coach
Eric Hodgson said. "We battled hard through tough wind and trick pin locations to hang on to our best finish of the spring."
The Owls finished the tournament at 23-over par 887. KSU carded 32 birdies and 183 pars. This is the best finish for the Owls this season.
Tori Owens was the top finisher in the tournament. She finished tied for third with a 1-over par 216. She posted a 3-over par 75 in the final round on Tuesday. Owens carded eight birdies and 38 pars for the tournament.
Bella Kil shot a 6-over par 78 in round three. Kil collected 10 birdies and 32 pars in the 54-hole event. She finished tied for tied for 8
th at 3-over par 219.
Tai Anudit finished tied for 15
th at 8-over par 224, collecting a 3-over par 75 in the final round. Anudit carded seven birdies and 38 pars for the tournament.
Meva Schmit posted a 6-over par 78 on Tuesday. She finished tied for 29
th at 11-over par 227 with 33 pars.
Emily Haigwood finished in 62
nd place at 40-over par 256.
Competing as individuals, Alezee Vidal finished in seventh at 2-over par 218,
Lara Jecnik finished tied for 15
th at 8-over par 224 and
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman finished in 57
th at 27-over par.
"Each player had to keep a positive mindset to recover from some rough holes and we've worked hard on that aspect." Hodgson said. "I can't wait to get back to tournament play next week to see how we progress."
The Owls will head to Johns Creek, Ga., to compete in the GSU Intercollegiate on March 29-30.
