ATHENS, Ga. - The Kennesaw State baseball team's (11-8, 4-2) led until the ninth inning against No. 12 Georgia (15-5), but a walk-off home run won a 3-2 game for the Bulldogs Tuesday night in Athens, Ga.
The Owls generated all of their offense in the first inning, starting when Terence Norman smacked a double off the center field wall to score Tyler Tolve. Garrett Hodges was the next batter up, singling to right field to take an early 2-0 lead in the first frame of the game.
Ryan Kennedy was spectacular in his first start since March 7. In six shutout innings pitched, the junior struck out four batters, letting up four hits and forcing nine groundouts.
The Bulldogs tied the game in the bottom of the ninth, facilitating a tenth-inning walk-off home run to win the game 3-2.
Kennesaw State has a quick turnaround, facing off against future ASUN competitor Jacksonville State tomorrow at 5 p.m. EST at Stillwell Stadium.
