Owls Conclude Play at Valspar Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. -  The Kennesaw State women's golf team finished in 14th place in the Valspar Augusta Invitarional at the Forest Hills Golf Club on Sunday.

"Today was a struggle from the start with some double bogeys early in the round," interim head coach Eric Hodgson said. "We tried to make up some ground towards the end but ultimately couldn't get the job done. This tournament will certainly be a learning experience and we will get right back to work this week to improve upon this performance."

KSU finished the tournament at 38-over par 902. Over 54 holes, the Owls carded 29 birdies and 165 pars.

Alizee Vidal was the top finisher for the Owls, posting a 5-over par 77 on Sunday. She finished tied for 50th with a 7-over par 223. 

Bella Kil and Meva Schmit finished tied for 58th with a 9-over par 225. Kil recorded a 3-over par 75 in the final round. Schmit shot a 2-over par 74 on Sunday.

Jecnik and Owens finished tied for 80th with a three-day total of 16-over par 232. Jecnik shot a 7-over par 79 in round three while Owens posted a 5-over par 77 on Sunday.

"We are taking the positives that we learned from this week and carrying that with us into next weeks event at Pinetree Country Club." Hodgson said. 

The Owls return to the practice course to prepare for the Pinetree Invitational in Kennesaw, Ga. on March 22-23.
