LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Kennesaw State women's track and field team won its second ASUN Indoor Championship on Saturday. The Owls entered the day trailing Liberty by 19 points. The Owls and the Flames went back and forth all day before KSU was able to grab the lead late and secure the victory. KSU's win marked the first time Liberty lost when hosting a conference championship meet in 12 tries.

School Record Performances
- Javon Joyner opened the day for the Owls with a career-best toss of 19.24m (63'1.5") to finish second in the weight throw.
- Sarah Hendrick ran a time of 2:03.73 to win the 800m.
- That time set a new KSU school record, facility record and ASUN Indoor Championship record. It also ranks No. 4 in the NCAA currently this season.
- Lindsay Billings smashed her previous school record in the 5k with a time of 16:25.98 to finish second.
- The 4x400m relay team of Britiney Johnson, Sarah Hendrick, Imani Christian and Jayla Mobley finished out the meet and secured the win for the Owls with a win in a time of 3:45.39.
Women's Medal Winners
- Freshman Jasmine Akins finished her strong first season winning the triple jump with a mark of 12.42m (40'9").
- Akins was joined on the medal stand by Da'Yona Henry who jumped 12.27m (40' 3.25") to finish third in the triple jump.
- The Owls duo of Jada Smith and Josie Konigsmark both cleared 3.56m (11'8") to finish first and second in the pole vault. Smith cleared the mark on fewer attempts to grab the win.
- Mollie Speights took home the gold medal while Aweng Mawien brought home the bronze medal after both cleared a personal-best height of 1.67m (5'5.75"). Speights cleared on less attempts giving her the win.
- Olivia Brown won her second consecutive gold medal in the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.65 seconds. Corbin McLean finished second behind Brown in 8.77 seconds.
- The Owls swept the podium in the 400m with Britiney Johnson (56.33 seconds), Jayla Mobley (56.59 seconds) and Imani Christian (56.67 seconds) finishing in the top three places.
- Louise Tocays collected a bronze medal in the 60m in a time of 7.68 seconds.
- Tocays would run a time of 24.63 seconds while Imani Christian finished in 24.93 seconds to collect the silver and bronze medals in the 200m.
Women's Notable Performances
- Ansley-Floyd Jackson landed a career-best mark of 10.46m (34'4") to finish sixth in the triple jump.
- Kyarra Newton added two points in the high jump clearing 1.64m (5'4.50") to finish fifth.
- Rachel Van Amburgh ran a personal-best time of 4:52.88 to finished fourth in the one mile run.
- Aweng Mawien (8.96 seconds), Kywana Donahoo (9.03 seconds) and Kyarra Newton (9.13 seconds) combined to score seven points for KSU in the 60m hurdles finishing fourth through sixth, respectively.
- Donahoo would return to the track finishing sixth in the 60m with a time of 7.90 seconds.
- Van Amburgh (2:15.06) and Madigan Wallace (2:17.63) finished fourth and fifth in the 800m to pick up six points.
- Jayla Mobley ran a time of 25.34 seconds to finish sixth in the 200m.
- Katie Meyer collected four pivotal points finishing fourth in the 5K with a career-best time of 17:09.08.

Sarah Hendrick is a monster and we have so many ladies that stepped up one after the other. I love this team and feels really good to bring a big trophy back to the Nest."
Next Up
Individuals who finish in the top-16 nationally in their specific event or top-12 in relay at the end of the indoor season will head to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 11-13. The Owls open their outdoor season on March 19-20 at the Georgia Tech Opener in Atlanta.
