Rounds One and Two Results | Round Three Results
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team finished in second place at the Jupiter Women's Invitational at the PGA Golf Club. The final round was played on Tuesday afternoon.
This tournament for the Owls was highlighted by several record-breaking performances. New team-lows for 18 (278), 36 (568), and 54-hole (862) scores on a par 71 course were broken.
KSU's 10-over par 862 placed them in second, four strokes behind tournament winner and host, Florida Atlantic.
"One of our goals is to finish our last three [holes] even or better," head coach Erin Thorne said. "If we accomplished this, maybe the outcome would have been different."
Bella Kil finished tied for fifth at even-par 243. She carded an even-par 71 in the final round.
Cam Neilson, who broke program records for individual-low on a par 71 course through 18 and 36 holes, carded a 3-over par 74 in round three, also finishing even par for the tournament and tied for fifth.
Both Kil and Neilson tied the program record for individual-low through 54 holes on a par 71 course.
Alizee Vidal shot a 2-over par 73 on Tuesday. She concluded the tournament at 2-over par 215 and tied for 8th.
Tori Owens finished tied for 17th after tallying a 76 in round three and 221 overall. Lara Jecnik carded a 78 on Tuesday bringing her total to 234 in the 54-hole event.
"We will work on cleaning up our par-5 scoring as we look towards our third event of the fall," Thorne said. "I'm proud of Cam, Bella and Alizee for finishing in the top 10."
The Owls have the next two weeks off then return to action on Monday, Oct. 25 for the Palmetto Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston.
