Opening Tee
The Kennesaw State men's golf travels to Loxley, Ala. for the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational hosted by South Alabama.

The tournament is scheduled for October 30-31 with 36 holes to be played on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. The 14-team field for this event features UAB, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Missouri among others.
 
KSU tied for 15th at the Battle at Black Creek on Tuesday (Oct. 26).

Hines Named ASUN Golfer of the Week
Redshirt-senior Ryan Hines was named ASUN Conference Men's Golfer of the Week the league office announced Thursday (Oct. 28). Hines was the Owls top finisher at the Battle at Black Creek finishing tied for 22nd with rounds of 73-71-75 for a 3-over par total of 219. He finished with 37 pars, seven birdies and one eagle in the 54-hole event.  The Woodstock, Ga. native was second in the field in par-3 scoring at 1-under par.
 

Owls Win Pinetree Intercollegiate
The Kennesaw State men's golf team captured the team and individual titles at the Pinetree Intercollegiate at Pinetree Country Club on Tuesday (Oct. 19). The Owls carded a 3-under par total of 861 to win by eight shots over second-place Arkansas State. KSU was the only team to finish under par after 54 holes.
 

Healy Tabbed ASUN Golfer of the Week
Kennesaw State senior Brock Healy was tabbed ASUN Conference Men's Golfer of the Week the league office announced Thursday (Oct. 21). Healy won the Pinetree Intercollegiate carding rounds of 75-65-70 for a 6-under par total of 210. He won the tournament by two shots after entering the final round three shots off the lead. His 7-under par round of 65 was his career-low round, was the lowest score shot by any player in the tournament and tied for the second-lowest score in program history on a par-72 course. The Norcross, Ga. native holed out and made eagle from 175 yards on the 18th hole to seal his victory.
 

Mota and Healy Named ASUN Golfers of the Week
Lucas Mota  and Brock Healy were named ASUN Conference Men's Co-Golfers of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday, September 30. Both players tied for fourth at 7-under par 206 while helping the Owls finish fourth at the 14-team J.T. Poston Invitational. They both beat players from South Carolina, Clemson, Chattanooga and Georgia Southern among others.


Captains Voted
Brock Healy and Brady Keran were voted team captains by their teammates for the 2021-22 season.
 

Mackay Named Assistant Coach
Nick Mackay was named men's golf assistant coach on August 20. Mackay spent the previous two seasons as an assistant men's golf coach at Georgia State. While at GSU, the Panthers recorded a round of 5-under par 275 at the 2019 Maui Jim Intercollegiate which tied for the seventh-lowest round in program history. He guided graduate transfer Ashton Poole to a 72.13 scoring average in 2019-20.

  
Owls Welcome Pair of Newcomers
KSU welcomed Lucas Mota and Joseph Byrne to the squad for this season. Mota is a senior with two seasons of eligibility remaining. He transferred to KSU from West Georgia where he posted a 72.48 scoring average in three seasons for the Wolves. Byrne comes to KSU from Ireland. He ranks fourth in the Ireland Under 18 Class, 1476 in the World Amateur Rankings and 39th in the European Golf Rankings Under 18 Class.

 
The 2021-22 Roster
Seventh-year head coach Bryant Odom has a more experienced roster with one graduate student Brady Keran. KSU will also feature redshirt-seniors Ryan Hines and Justin Kim along with seniors Brock Healy, Conner Rostowsky and Lucas Mota. They are joined by junior Takafumi Shimoji, sophomore Luke Phillips and freshman Joseph Byrne.

 
2020-21 Season in Review
The Owls played in eight events in the spring of 2021. The fall portion of the schedule was canceled due to health concerns related to COVID-19. KSU wrapped up the season with six top-eight finishes including a pair of runners-up.


2020-2021 Postseason Honors
Brady Keran and Brock Healy were named Golf Coaches Association of America All-American Scholars.

The Owls will open the spring portion of 2021-22 schedule at the Coral Creek Club Invitational hosted by FGCU on February 28-29, 2022 in Placida, Fla.
