Round One Results | Round Two and Three Live Scoring
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Kennesaw State women's golf program stands tied for seventh in the Palmetto Intercollegiate after Monday's action at Turtle Point Golf Club.
The Owls completed the first round but were unable to finish the second round before play was halted due to darkness.
KSU shot a 2-over par 290 in the first round and were also 2-over par for the second round before play was suspended.
"We have played to our scoring average but definitely know that this team can post a low number on this course," head coach Erin Thorne said. "I believe we can climb up the leaderboard quickly in the final round."
Tori Owens led the team after day one and carded a 5-under par with three holes left to play in round two. She will resume play tied for 5th in the tournament.
Alizee Vidal ended the first round with a 4-under par 68, and finished the day tied for 13th at 1-under par. Cameron Neilson was tied for 16th after carding a 1-over par 73 in round one and going even-par through 15 holes in round two.
"I'm excited for both Alizee and Tori to have breakthrough rounds," Thorne said. "You can see them executing the game plan and being patient when in-between clubs to accept longer birdie attempts."
Meva Schmit shot a 4-over par 76 in round one, while Lara Jecnik carded a 5-over par 77. Both ended day one action at 10-over par.
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman, playing as an individual, completed round one with a 2-over par 74 and has a tournament score of 6-over par with six more holes left to play in the second round.
The Owls will finish up the second round, as well as round three, on Tuesday, Oct. 26.
