"Today was a really physical day with some of the guys playing four matches," assistant coach
Simon Pritchard said. "They did a fantastic job of getting off to good starts and closing their matches out once they got up. Sergio did an unbelievable job today winning four matches and spending upwards of five hours on court."
In doubles, Ingles and
Raul Garcia opened the day with a 8-7 (7-1) win over Breno Marques and Joe Ellis of UNF. They advanced to the main draw with a 8-7 (9-7) win over Alvera Fernandez Horta and Filip Krolo of Florida Atlantic.
"Sergio and Raul didn't play their best doubles today but they were able to come from behind twice to make it to the main draw," Pritchard said. "We have a couple of small things we need to adjust going into tomorrow so I know they will be ready to go in the morning."
The Owls will have two doubles teams and three singles players in the main draws
