ATLANTA, GA. – Kennesaw State senior
Brock Healy was tabbed ASUN Conference Men's Golfer of the Week the league office announced Thursday.
"Brock is one of the hardest working student-athletes that I have ever coached and this win (at the Pinetree Intercollegiate) is a result of his work ethic and preparation," head coach
Bryant Odom said. "Brock takes care of the small things on and off the course that are imperative for success. As a team co-captain, he buys in to the message, leads by example and always has a positive attitude. I can see many more awards for Brock in the future."
Healy won the Pinetree Intercollegiate carding rounds of 75-65-70 for a 6-under par total of 210. He won the tournament by two shots after entering the final round three shots off the lead. His 7-under par round of 65 was his career-low round, was the lowest score shot by any player in the tournament and tied for the second-lowest score in program history on a par-72 course. The Norcross, Ga. native holed out and made eagle from 175 yards on the 18th hole to seal his victory.
He is the eighth different Owl in program history to capture an individual tournament title and the third KSU player to take home individual medalist honors at the Pinetree Intercollegiate. He finished the tournament with 35 pars, 10 birdies and two eagles.
Healy and the Owls travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. for the Battle at Black Creek on Oct. 25-26 at Black Creek Golf Club.
