ATLANTA, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team fell 7-0 in a pair of matches to Georgia Tech on Thursday (Jan. 28.).  

"Today was a very productive day for our guys," Director of Tennis Matt Emery said. "In the second match, we put ourselves in a position to win and came up just a bit short. We were very proud of the way these guys competed and are excited to get back to work and get ready for Jacksonville State. I would also like to thank Milton Overton, Mindy Mager-Debruce, Mike Young and Amy Prall for helping us get back on the court today."

Georgia Tech (2-0) won two doubles matches and six singles matches to take the opening match. Sebastian Osorio and Raul Garcia took the No. 31 ranked doubles duo of Marcus McDaniel and Pablo Schelcher to the wire before falling 6-4. In singles, Garcia fell in a third-set tiebreaker to Schelcher 4-6, 6-4, 1-0.
 
In match two, the Yellow Jackets won the doubles point and six singles matches. In doubles, Sergio Ingles and Sebastian Osorio were trailing Cole Gromley and Brandon McKinney 4-2 when the doubles point was clinched. Osorio and Daniel Botti both lost a pair of tight two-set matches. Gaston Muhammad and Ingles both pushed their matches to a third set. Ingles won the second set but came up on the short end of a 4-6, 6-3, 3-6 decision to No. 59 Andres Martin. Muhammad dropped a third-set tiebreaker to Brandon Freestone 6-2, 7-6, 4-6.
 
The Owls will host Jacksonville State on the Betty Siegel Courts for the home opener on Sunday, February 7 at 11a.m.
